While observing the official kick-off of the Christmas season this weekend, my mind kept coming back to individuals that are not as fortunate as I am. Many of the runners that I know are lucky enough to be able to pay to participate in races nearly every weekend and to replace their shoes whenever the need arises; however, I also know of runners in my running family that can rarely afford to pay for a race or replace their shoes.
In the spirit of the holiday season, Short, Round, and Fast has set up a GoFundMe campaign as a place for those who want to and are able to donate to support help support a less fortunate runner or athlete you know that is in need. Donations will be used to buy race entries or shoes for those individuals.
Who will get the money that is donated?
The preferred method of donating is for the individual that is giving to send an email with the name and address of the person they wish to donate to firstname.lastname@example.org and the Short, Round, and Fast team will make the donation to the individual anonymously for you.
For anyone that wishes to donate without a specific runner or athlete in mind, a committee will be collecting names of individuals that are in need to make donations to.
If you would like to learn more about GoFundMe before donating, I have provided a video about how it works below.

Thank you in advance for your donations. Runner’s and athletes are some of the most altruistic people I know. Let’s set the tone for this holiday season by giving to those that are less fortunate.
